An Excerpt from the novel Creeps, Anonymous

“Almost makes me wish I could read passive aggressive statuses about me.” Sebastian kicked his boots up on the kitchen table.

“Hey, so all those vague passive aggressive statuses about your friends really tickle me.”

Olivia was leaning against the kitchen counter, poking around in the melted remnants of her Cherry Garcia. She looked up, “I don’t have those.”

Sebastian grinned, “Yeah you do.”

She wrinkled her nose in annoyance, “Look, even if I did, what would you know? You don’t even have Facebook.”

“Uh, all your posts are public.”

“No they aren’t.”

Sebastian leveled a stare at her. The static from the record player crackled through the silence.

She pulled out her phone and checked. “Hmm,” she said around the spoon in her mouth.

“Almost makes me wish I could read passive aggressive statuses about me.” Sebastian kicked his boots up on the kitchen table.

“That would suit your over-inflated sense of self. Also you’re drunk,” she said, imperceptibly growing red around the ears.

He saluted her with his sweating beer bottle. “So are you. Not even one?” He pouted.

“I’ve got nothing to say about you,” Olivia groused. She shot a look over her phone at him, he was gulping down what has left of his beer.

Subtly, she checked her phone again and switched her latest post to ‘private’. It read something along the lines of: ‘Wish I could kiss you on your stupid face.’
